Reading the room: what your gaze reveals about a space
At Mobile World Congress in Shanghai I spoke on the main Leaders Stage about a simple idea: if you track where people look inside a space, you can measure how that space actually makes them feel — before it is built. That gaze-driven method is the research behind my VR space audits, and it sits inside a bigger shift to XR.
Attention is data
In a headset you can know exactly where a person looks. Aggregate that across many people and you get an honest map of what a room, a store or a building draws the eye to — and what it quietly ignores. That turns a subjective "does it feel right?" into something you can measure and design against, before a single wall goes up. It also raises a question I care about a lot: your gaze is biometric data, and it should be treated that way — more on that in the ethics of spatial computing.


Where it fits: the move to XR
This is one piece of a larger shift from screens to spatial computing. When the interface stops being a rectangle and becomes the world around you, attention and gaze become the core signal — the thing you design with.
